Derek Newcomer

Grounded in a career that spans environmental remediation and building science, Derek is driven by one mission: to translate technical knowledge into real-world solutions that protect health and improve homes.

Meet Derek. His journey began with sawdust and summer sweat while working for a local builder during high school and learning the craftsmanship of woodwork at his father’s side. These early experiences grounded him in the satisfaction of building with purpose and precision. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Hazardous Materials Management, where his focus shifted from construction to the science behind it. Through internships on complex environmental cleanup projects and later as a certified industrial hygienist, Derek mastered the assessment and control of mold, asbestos, lead, and radon.

Today, Derek bridges the worlds of science and service. With deep experience in building-related hazards and a passion for hands-on problem-solving, he brings a data-driven, health-centered approach to every project—designing solutions that don’t just meet standards but improve the lives of those who live and work in the space.
